FTI Consulting, Inc. Integrates Recommind’s Axcelerate™ eDiscovery Technology into its Ringtail® Legal 2005™ Platform

Revolutionary eDiscovery technology improves organization, prioritization and speed of document review and reduces the costs for Ringtail Legal users

Rockville, MD - August 22, 2007

FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organizations protect and enhance their enterprise value, and Recommind, a leading provider of search and categorization systems for law firms and enterprises, today announced the integration of Recommind's Axcelerate™ eDiscovery technology into the Ringtail® Legal 2005™ document review platform. Axcelerate eDiscovery's groundbreaking technology provides Ringtail Legal users with innovative tools that significantly expedite the document review process, improve attorney efficiency and lower eDiscovery costs.

The Ringtail Legal 2005 platform reduces the time and expense of electronic discovery. Attorneys working on large and complex document reviews benefit from the technology's advanced searching, document security, coding, redaction, and production capabilities. Used by corporations, law firms and governments for some of the largest cases in the world, the highly scalable technology can handle hundreds of users, thousands of cases and millions of documents in over 200 languages including Russian, Japanese and Korean.

Axcelerate eDiscovery includes the unique First Pass Review™ and patent-pending One Click Coding™ functionality. First Pass Review automatically organizes multi-terabyte document sets by myriad parameters including responsiveness, issue, privilege and concept group, making review organization and document batching simpler, more accurate and quicker. One Click Coding makes a computer-generated judgment – with explicit confidence score – about each document's relevance, responsiveness, and privileged nature, expediting the actual review process while improving accuracy and lowering the risk of missing key documents.

The Axcelerate integration enables Ringtail Legal users to leverage First Pass Review and One Click Coding technology from the Ringtail interface. This integration also provides sophisticated de-duplication, near-duplication, email threading, and filtering functionality, while also automatically identifying key documents, people, phrases and concepts in the document collection. The resulting clustering and auto-coding allows attorneys, paralegals and experts to quickly gain insight into any document collection. Attorneys then complete reviews using Ringtail's powerful security, and multi-lingual redaction and production features.

“With the quantity of potentially discoverable data skyrocketing at the same time the revised FRCP are shortening discovery timelines, the legal industry is going through a transitional period,” said Sherry Lalonde, CIO of Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. “Technological innovation must play a key role in modernizing legal review and analysis. The integration of Recommind's analysis, review and auto-coding technology with the Ringtail document review platform provides our attorneys and paralegals with the best of both worlds. We feel strongly that an integrated solution like this represents the future of eDiscovery, and will enable us to offer superior service to our clients as a result.”

“Incorporating Axcelerate eDiscovery into the popular Ringtail Legal 2005 platform dramatically improves the eDiscovery process by giving in-house attorneys and outside counsel insight into a collection before document review begins, and by improving the organization and speed of the actual review process,” said Craig Carpenter, vice president of marketing and business development with Recommind. “This combination will provide game-changing differentiation for law firms and enterprises looking to get ahead of skyrocketing collection sizes and eDiscovery costs.”

“The FTI partnership with Recommind to bring these capabilities to Ringtail® Legal 2005™ demonstrates FTI's strategy to integrate best-of-breed technologies into the software platform,” said Tim Klinger, managing director at FTI Consulting. “Our clients and those considering Ringtail for document review can be confident that the technology provides the most advanced and robust features available today.”

The Axcelerate eDiscovery integration is available for both the installable version of Ringtail Legal 2005 and on the hosted version of Ringtail from FTI Consulting. For more information, please email contact@ftiringtail.com.
