Mr. Sandberg has led and managed on-shore and off-shore financial operations teams, including responsibilities for accounting, month-end close, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, analysis and planning. Related services that he has provided include implementing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, planning and migrating work processes to off-shore resources, planning and migrating business operations to outsource service providers, development and review of business plans, competitive benchmarking and management of operations. Most recently, Mr. Sandberg was responsible for a large financial operations organization.
For major business combinations, Mr. Sandberg has provided advice and merger integration services. His roles have included overseeing project management offices, participating on executive steering committees and leading the development and implementation of functional team plans, process improvement, financial management planning and synergy realizations. Mr. Sandberg has been involved in more than a dozen mergers and integrations.
In addition, Mr. Sandberg has participated in more than 20 merger and acquisition due diligence efforts. Mr. Sandberg’s expertise is in quality of earnings analysis, analysis of financial and operational synergies in potential mergers, risk exposure analysis, financial modeling and integration planning. Mr. Sandberg has also led many business improvement initiatives, including cost reduction projects, process improvement initiatives, and information system projects. Mr. Sandberg has also been involved in business restructuring, negotiating and settling bankruptcy claims, and negotiating and settling vendor disputes.
Mr. Sandberg has led implementations of enterprise resource planning, financial, human resource, e-commerce and reporting systems. Additionally, Mr. Sandberg has been involved with human resource operations and process improvement projects.
Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Sandberg was vice president of finance at Level 3 Communications, a $5 billion global telecommunications company. Before that, he worked at Cap Gemini, Mutual of Omaha and MetLife. Mr. Sandberg has also been involved in founding, building, operating and selling businesses.
Mr. Sandberg holds an M.B.A. from Creighton University and a B.S. in business administration from University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
