As a senior managing director, President and CEO of International Risk (Asia), which is part of the Forensic and Litigation Consulting segment, and is based in Hong Kong. Steve is responsible for the strategic direction and overall operations of International Risk (Asia).
Steve has over 28 years experience in the investigation, intelligence and risk mitigation field. In the eight years prior to joining International Risk (Asia) he was the Asia Regional Head of a leading U.S. listed company. He was concurrently the Chairman of an intellectual property firm focused on brand protection in China. He has conducted numerous sensitive business intelligence projects, major financial investigations, international asset searches and risk assessments. Steve has often led crisis management teams faced with significant threats to major corporations.
He spent 18 years in the Royal Hong Kong Police retiring in the rank of Senior Superintendent. Steve commanded the Criminal Intelligence Bureau with responsibility for tactical and strategic operations against triad and organized crime groups, risk assessments and the management of kidnapping incidents or product extortion cases. Steve handled 28 kidnapping incidents ranging from short term, domestic cases, through major international incidents. Steve speaks fluent Cantonese and has extensive experience in specialist units including the Commercial Crime Bureau and the Police Tactical Unit.
He has operated widely in Asia and has lectured on risk mitigation, kidnapping, organized crime and related subjects in the US, Europe and Africa. Steve is a member of the International Institute of Security.
