Aris Karcanias is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting, based in the London office. He works within the Economics and Financial Consulting Practice and has over 10 years of consulting experience in the clean energy sector with a focus on renewables and in particular the wind industry. Mr. Karcanias has a strong technical engineering background with experience in systems and control and commercialising clean energy technologies.

Experience

His project experience includes advising on corporate strategy formulation, renewable energy technology, strategic market entry & exit, mergers & acquisitions, dispute resolution, due diligence reviews, and energy policy development and impact assessments. Mr. Karcanias has managed a number of large, cross-country projects and has worked with clients across the world and throughout the energy value chain including emerging technology companies, manufacturers, environmental organisations, utilities, developers, energy companies, investors, and government agencies.

Mr. Karcanias has a deep understanding of the key generation technologies, market structure, business strategy, technology supply chains and policy regimes in key global energy markets.

Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Karcanias led the consulting component of Navigant’s BTM Consult where he conducted extensive technical, market, and economic analyses of renewable energy systems. Earlier in his career, he worked for Planet Ernst & Young, and the University of Cambridge Engineering Department.

Mr. Karcanias has written a number of articles and industry-leading publications and has been quoted in leading media outlets on renewable energy issues. He frequently speaks at or chairs renewable energy conferences.
