Doug Donsky is a senior managing director of the FTI Strategic Communications practice and is based in New York. He serves as Head of Financial Services sector team in the Americas.

Experience

Mr. Donsky has nearly 20 years of corporate communications, capital markets and crisis management experience, having advised senior business leaders and directors at Fortune 500 companies, asset managers, commercial banks, insurers, exchanges, and alternative investment firms. Mr. Donsky also has extensive experience supporting the defense of companies facing litigation or regulatory investigations, including SEC, CFTC, DOJ, FTC and state insurance matters.

Recently, Mr. Donsky has advised senior executives at AIG, Barclays, DTCC, HSBC, Legg Mason, and NYSE Euronext on corporate reputation issues. He has also provided strategic counsel to many leading financial sponsors, including Apollo Management, Global Infrastructure Partners, Resource Capital Funds and Silverpeak Real Estate Partners. In 2003, Mr. Donsky advised CIT Group on its IPO and spin-off from Tyco International, named PR Week's “Campaign of the Year.”

Before joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Donsky was a Managing Director at Kreab Gavin Anderson, directing the agency’s operations in North America. Before that, he held senior positions at Edelman and Morgen-Walke Associates. Mr. Donsky began his career as a business reporter, serving as a Washington correspondent with American Banker and senior editor at Commercial Property News. He previously interned at Lehman Brothers.

Mr. Donsky earned a M.S.J. from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and B.A. in English from Haverford College. He also studied at the University of Sussex in Brighton, UK.
