James Melville-Ross is a managing director in the Strategic Communications practice of FTI Consulting and is based in London. Mr. Melville-Ross is primarily involved in providing financial communications advice to a broad range of UK and international companies. He has 17 years of experience and has been with the group for 12 years.
Experience
For those 12 years he has specialised in advising technology, media and telecoms companies, working alongside international market leaders such as SAP, Infosys, Dassault Systemes and CSR in the tech sector; KPN, Cable&Wireless Worldwide and Portugal Telecom in the telecoms sector; and DST and Mail.ru in the digital media arena as well as a host of smaller public and private companies.
Mr. Melville-Ross has advised on more than 35 IPOs on exchanges ranging from Nasdaq to Dublin, AIM to the Hang Seng, including Dimension Data's £5.8bn 2000 listing in London and Mail.ru’s $5.7bn London IPO in 2010. Recent M&A experience extends to Photobox’s £120m acquisition of Moonpig.com, Dimension Data’s £2.1bn acquisition by NTT Group, DST’s acquisition of a $200m stake in Facebook and SAP’s €4.8bn takeover of Business Objects.
