Rod Sutton is Chairman, Asia Pacific Region of FTI Consulting and he is based in Hong Kong. He is responsible for the business direction and development of FTI Consulting in Asia Pacific, which includes the practices of Corporate Finance/Restructuring, Economic Consulting, Forensic and Litigation Consulting, Strategic Communications, and Technology. He is responsible for aligning the strategy with the tactical deployment of each practice’s activities across Asia Pacific.
Experience
Mr. Sutton is also a senior managing director in the FTI Corporate Finance practice and is based in Hong Kong. He is primarily involved in providing mergers and acquisitions investment advice to key stakeholders on large and complex assignments within the Asian emerging markets. With more than 23 years of corporate advisory and restructuring experience throughout Australasia, he is highly skilled in providing practical and commercial solutions to complex financial and cross-jurisdictional issues.
Mr. Sutton’s counsel is sought for a broad range of applications, including sell mandates; reverse takeovers; selective capital reductions; re-lists; directorships; formal solutions; or simply to assist financial stakeholders by providing essential due diligence services. Whether the advice required is part of an entry to, or an exit from, an investment, his key focus remains the same. He works diligently to extract value for his clients using his vast corporate finance knowledge, extensive experiences and astute negotiation skills.
Mr. Sutton has conducted assignments in Hong Kong; the People's Republic of China; Taiwan, Thailand; Singapore; Australia; BVI; Bermuda and Mauritius.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Sutton was an executive director of Ferrier Hodgson. He commenced his career in Melbourne in 1988 and relocated permanently to Hong Kong in 2002. He is a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. He is an official liquidator and registered trustee in bankruptcy in Australia.
