Sean Harding is a senior managing director in the FTI Consulting Corporate Finance/Restructuring practice and is based in Atlanta. Mr. Harding specializes in the revitalization of underperforming businesses.
Mr. Harding has more than fourteen years of experience advising senior management and boards of directors in revitalizing companies that are stagnant or underperforming. He has led numerous turnaround and restructuring engagements and has served as an advisor to companies and secured creditors in both in and out-of-court restructurings, and in formal bankruptcy proceedings. Mr. Harding has experience in a number of industries, including food, agriculture, quick service restaurants, manufacturing, retail and distribution.
Mr. Harding’s financial and operational advisory services have included assisting companies in improving core operations through identifying and focusing on key performance indicators that drive profitability; assisting with production planning; negotiating financing arrangements and covenant compliance; developing and reviewing detailed financial and operational business turnaround plans; developing and reviewing detailed 13-week cash flow projections; product profitability analyses and cost reduction initiatives.
Examples of Mr. Harding’s financial and operational advisory experience include serving as restructuring advisor to the third largest hog producer in the country, where he worked hand in hand with the operations and finance team to improve operating efficiencies, generate incremental liquidity and restructure the company’s capital structure; and serving as restructuring advisor to FPL Foods, a $300 million revenue fully integrated beef processor, where Mr. Harding worked closely with senior management to redevelop production schedules to meet peak delivery demands. Specific tasks included the front-end sourcing of cattle, processing the ground beef and distribution to the customers.
In addition, Mr. Harding has served as the restructuring advisor for Rhodes Furniture, a $500 million revenue furniture retailer; Transit Group, a $450 million revenue truckload carrier; Burger King and individual franchisees; and a $500 million heating and air conditioning distributor. Mr. Harding also served as advisor to the bank group of a textile manufacturing company and a condominium developer; and as a financial advisor to a $500 million tier-2 automotive supplier.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Harding was a manager with the U.S. division of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Business Recovery Services practice.
Mr. Harding holds a B.S. in commerce with a concentration in finance from the University of Virginia. He is a certified insolvency and restructuring advisor and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors and the Turnaround Management Association.
