Campus recruiting

Join FTI Consulting as a recent graduate, and you soon will find yourself a team member on an engagement with one of the consulting industry’s fastest-growing firms.

Since our teams are smaller than those in most consultancies, you’ll work closely with leading experts in their fields who range from forensic accountants and crisis communications specialists to former chief executives, political leaders and Nobel Laureate economists.

The issues with which we deal often are complex and interrelated so your initial project could demand expertise from any or all of our five practices. Every project is different, and, as a consultant, you’ll need to use all your technical and analytical abilities to come up with innovative solutions. Our working culture is unique, relying upon and valuing the contribution of every individual, no matter what the title or role is, so you will have many opportunities to make your mark.

Professional Development

In addition to the New Hire Orientation program, which facilitates your smooth integration into the firm, each practice has its own formal training program to develop the skills and tools you’ll need. Most of your learning, however, will happen “on the job,” working on individual projects and interacting with more senior and experienced team members. In addition, you will be assigned a mentor or performance manager who will help you identify your own goals and develop the best route for achieving them. Regular meetings with your mentor will give you invaluable feedback so you can identify your strengths and the areas that need further work.

THE INTERVIEW PROCESS

Once you have applied, you can expect two or three rounds of interviews, depending on the practice and location.

First-round interviews generally are conducted on campus by a Director or Managing Director from the relevant area of the firm.  During this interview you can expect the interviewer to want to walk through your resume, background and career interests in more detail.

Final-round interviews generally are conducted at the local office and usually introduce you to representatives from various levels of your chosen practice. The interview will include some business analysis to assess your level of experience, as well as a more general discussion. You also will have the chance to ask questions and learn more about the exciting career that awaits you at FTI. In addition, some practices may ask you to discuss a case based on a real-life business situation. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your ability to structure your thoughts in response to a complex challenge.
