FTI Consulting Appoints Steven J. Bensinger to Senior Managing Director, Global Insurance Services Group
Former CFO of Leading Financial Services Companies Further Strengthens Global Insurance Offering

Bensinger has joined the firm as a Senior Managing Director in the Global Insurance Services group.

Mr. Bensinger is a highly accomplished business strategist with a proven track record of critical leadership within complex financial services and insurance enterprises, with more than two decades of extensive global operational and financial management expertise. Mr. Bensinger spent six years at American International Group, Inc. (AIG) where he held a number of senior positions, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He was appointed Vice Chairman, Financial Services, in May 2008 in addition to retaining CFO responsibilities. Mr. Bensinger was an integral part of AIG’s executive leadership team, managing a large number of disciplines within the company and leading many important initiatives.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Bensinger was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Hanover Insurance Group Inc. in Worcester, Mass. In his role, he was a member of the executive leadership team and was responsible for financial reporting, business finance, financial systems, treasury, risk management, investment management, tax, actuarial, investor relations and internal audit within the top 25 U.S. insurers. Throughout his professional career, he has held senior positions with Combined Specialty Group, Inc. (an Aon Corporation subsidiary), Trenwick Group Ltd., Chartwell Re Corporation, Skandia America Corporation and Coopers & Lybrand.
Mr. Bensinger is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Global Management Accountant, and holds a B.S. from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He serves as a member of the Board of Overseers of the Stern School of Business and is a board member and past president of its alumni association. Mr. Bensinger also holds a board position at the Ronald McDonald House of New York, Inc. and Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich, CT.
