Adam S. Bendell is Chief Innovation Officer for FTI Consulting and is based in San Francisco. Mr. Bendell is responsible for innovation for FTI Consulting and is the firm’s corporate Social Responsibility Officer, coordinating the firm’s global corporate citizenship activities. Mr. Bendell previously served as SVP of Strategic Development, after serving as a Senior Managing Director in the Technology segment, where he co-led the consulting practice and assisted clients with the document and data discovery process in civil litigation and government investigations, and in developing in-house corporate e-discovery and information governance programs. He has more than 20 years of experience in technology, knowledge management and litigation support, and as an entrepreneur.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Bendell was Chief Executive Officer and President of Strategic Discovery, Inc., an electronic discovery consultancy, which was acquired by FTI Consulting in 2008 and which he co-founded in 2002. Prior to founding Strategic Discovery, Mr. Bendell was President of SV Technology, Inc., which developed the LawPort legal knowledge management portal software. Prior to that, he served as Chief Technology Counsel for Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. In his 12 years with Gibson Dunn, he practiced in the areas of large-case litigation and corporate transactions and established the firm’s first knowledge management and litigation support functions. He also served as Chair of the Technology Committee, responsible for the firm’s overall technology strategy.

Mr. Bendell attended the London School of Economics, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Cornell University. He obtained his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1986. He was a member and Associate Editor of the University of Chicago Law Review, and was a founder and Executive Editor of the University of Chicago Legal Forum.
