Drew Krut is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based McLean, Virginia. He is a member of the Performance Improvement practice.
Mr. Krut has more than 15 years of supply chain experience having held various leadership positions in supply chain design optimization, transportation logistics, reverse logistics, operations performance improvement and merger integration in both F500 and private equity (“PE”) portfolio companies.
Mr. Krut drives cost-to-serve improvements on a global scale with a specific focus on increasing team productivity and efficiency through driving process improvement and creating performance metrics. He builds and leads highly functioning teams and has extensive experience in management consulting and interim management roles at an executive level. His experience in leading teams covers a wide range of industries, including industry-leading e-commerce corporations, automotive manufacturing, consumer products, retail, 3PL providers, technology companies, Department of Defense (“DOD”) and state/local governments.
Most recently, Mr. Krut has served as the Interim Vice President of Global Supply Chain and Operations for an industry-leading consumer products PE company, where he identified and led savings initiatives of $6.3 million in global supply chain restructuring and efficiency improvements. These savings led to a 10 percent lift in the cost-to-serve spend and were executed in less than 12 months.
In addition, Mr. Krut led best-in-class warehouse and distribution operations for Amazon.com, where he designed and implemented industry leading e-commerce supply chain operations and standard operating procedures.
Mr. Krut served as the Integration Management Office Lead for a $1 billion acquisition and subsequent merger of two publically traded, industry-leading technology companies, where he was responsible for information management office (“IMO”)/project management office (“PMO”) functional team integration coordination, synergy identification, value capture and the management of all synergy initiatives throughout the integration.
Furthermore, Mr. Krut has managed various supply chain transformations to include network optimizations through redesign, site relocations, 3PL out-sourcing and 3PL to 4PL transitions, and led numerous enterprise resource planning (“ERP”), workflow management system (“WMS”), and training management system (“TMS”) integration efforts.
Previously, Mr. Krut led numerous buy- and sell-side pre-deal engagements with a strong focus on manufacturing, supply chain optimization, carve-out and cost take-out, synergy capture, initiative implementation and integration execution post-deal across a wide range of industries, including automotive, consumer products, grocery, food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals, technology and building products.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Krut was the Director of Transportation and Logistics Operations in Alvarez and Marsal’s Performance Improvement practice. He implemented a redesign of a global logistics operation to include the last-mile and reverse logistics network, and he integrated a global TMS solution and numerous distribution process improvement initiatives, which resulted in $5 million in run rate savings and $12 million in realized working capital improvements.
Prior to that, Mr. Krut was a Senior Launch Team Leader for Amazon Fresh where he built the team, established best-practices and successfully led the launch of the first Amazon Fresh business unit on the East Coast in the New York City and Philadelphia markets.
In addition, Mr. Krut was an Operations Manager for Amazon.com, working as fulfillment leader of all distribution and reverse logistics operations of a 1 million square foot Amazon.com distribution center responsible for more than 500,000 customer orders per week and more than 1,000 direct employees at its peak.
Mr. Krut is a Veteran, having served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom where he led various, unique teams in dynamic environments. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Nuclear Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis.
