Elaine Lehnert is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Red Bank. She is a member of the Insurance & Pension group in the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment. Ms. Lehnert has over 23 years of management and consulting experience within the life, health, and property casualty insurance and reinsurance industries involving a broad range of expertise, including GAAP; statutory accounting; forensic accounting; auditing; financial operations; fraud investigations; SEC reporting; Sarbanes-Oxley; arbitration and litigation support and expert testimony.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Lehnert was with Veris Consulting as a Managing Director directing major engagements involving litigation and expert testimony; forensic accounting; fraud investigations; reinsurance disputes; and assistance to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Ms. Lehnert provided expert testimony on several occasions.

Prior to Veris, Ms. Lehnert was with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a Technical Manager with responsibility for assisting and managing the activities of the Insurance Companies Committee and its task forces, Relations with Actuaries Committee, and various Accounting Standards Executive Committee task forces.

In addition, Ms. Lehnert was responsible for making quarterly presentations regarding AICPA activities to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners; working directly with the insurance regulatory process; evaluating and commenting on regulatory proposals; serving as primary staff liaison with various state insurance regulators; and acting as AICPA primary staff liaison on technical matters related to insurance accounting with the SEC staff and the FASB staff.

Ms. Lehnert was a Manager at KPMG, where she was responsible for a broad range of accounting, auditing, and statement preparation and reporting functions, as well as providing insurance industry training to staff, consultants and management.

Ms. Lehnert has contributed to development of the June 1, 2010 edition of the AICPA Audit and Accounting Guide, Audits of Life and Health Insurance Entities; the June 1, 2009 edition of the AICPA Audit and Accounting Guide, Audits of Property and Liability Insurance Entities; and the AICPA Audit Risk Alert, Insurance Industry Developments, 2002/2003, 2003/2004, 2008, 2009.

In addition to her professional career, Ms. Lehnert is actively involved in her community as past Treasurer of the Fair Haven Parent Teacher Association and is a board member of the Fair Haven Board of Education. Ms. Lehnert is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified in Financial Fraud.
