Maura Conway is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Washington, DC. She is part of the Health Solutions segment. Ms. Conway has over twelve years of healthcare experience primarily in revenue cycle process improvement and project management.

Ms. Conway has expertise within patient access, denials management, accounts receivable (AR) strategy, and case management through experiences working with a variety of healthcare entities including academic medical centers, children’s hospitals, healthcare systems, and long term acute care facilities.

Ms. Conway led a cash acceleration initiative for a 20-facility LTAC corporation, wherein she implemented a business office redesign and an accounts receivable (AR) reduction strategy resulting in $6M cash benefit.

Ms. Conway designed and implemented comprehensive pre-arrival ‘financial clearance’ centers for a number of clients including a children’s hospital in a large urban area; a four-facility $775M net revenue health system in Kentucky; and across a community hospital and its 60 primary and specialty physician practices outside of Boston. Ms. Conway also implemented a point of service (POS) cash collections initiative at an 8-facility health system in Virginia.

Ms. Conway led revenue cycle transformation engagements for EPIC clients in concert with EPIC optimization efforts, such as: implementation of the EPIC ABN signature workflow and process across 5 hospitals and employed medical group practices; implementation of orders-driven workflow for central scheduling along with financial clearance processes for a five hospital, $1.2B net revenue organization; and optimization of workqueue design, functionality, and KPI reporting; development of e-Learning curriculum and competency testing for the physician practice network of an academic medical center in California.

Ms. Conway’s past experience also includes implementation of denials management programs at a multi-facility health system in Louisville and a public hospital in Nevada. Additionally, she implemented a service-based case management model at an academic medical center in California and developed interdisciplinary rounds in collaboration with other care teams.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Conway was a Manager, Revenue Cycle, at Huron Healthcare. Ms. Conway holds a B.S. from the University of Notre Dame and M.S. from Georgetown University.
