Nathan Landrey is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Denver. He is part of the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment. Mr. Landrey has more than 15 years of experience in corporate advisory matters, particularly focused on performance and operational improvement reviews, strategic corporate turnaround advice, assessing and preparing financial models and addressing client debt structure concerns to develop innovative solutions.
Mr. Landrey has worked for business of all sizes, from small and medium enterprises (“SME”) to Australian Stock Exchange (“ASX”) and National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations (“NASDAQ”) listed entities with assets in excess of AU$600 million and turnover in excess of AU$1.2 billion. He specializes in the telecommunications, media and technology, manufacturing, mining and resources, aviation, pubs and clubs industries.
Mr. Landrey’s recent relevant engagements includes providing the customer profitability analysis and reset of the go-to-market strategy for Australia’s largest on-line directories business, with over AU$1 billion in revenue. He matched the organizational chart to the proposed strategy, while considering the efficiency of existing operations to achieve maximum lifetime customer value. Mr. Landrey was the Interim Management (Deputy CAO) and Internal Control Remediation lead for a NASDAQ-listed data communications equipment manufacturer with a market cap of around US$3 billion. Mr. Landrey performed the strategic business review of an internet service provider (“ISP”) with approximately 125,000 customers and an annual turnover of AU$65 million. The review focused on business performance sustainability, expense benchmarking, forecast stress testing and customer and business valuation analysis.
Mr. Landrey also replaced management and assumed control of a mobile virtual network operator (“MVNO”) service provider platform, interfacing end users and telephony service providers. The platform was an integrated billing, operations, sales and support platform for a range of telecommunications services. He traded the business and operated the platform for the purposes of conducting a going concern sale. Mr. Landrey also performed an investigating accountants review of a broadband installation and servicing company with an annual revenue of AU$25 million. The engagement required sensitivity analysis of a 13 week rolling three-way forecast, review and assessment of key supply agreements and preparation of debt serviceability and loan amortisation models.
In addition, Mr. Landrey led the strategic business review of an ASX-listed mining services company generating AU$300 million annually and employing approximately 1,000 staff. His role required an assessment of the overall strategy and management capabilities of the company, forecast analysis and assumption testing, revenue and project pipeline review and consideration of cash flow and working capital requirements. Mr. Landrey also led financial due diligence of a hospitality group acquisition for approximately AU$90 million. His work involved assessment of financial forecasts, analysis of capital expenditure (“CAPEX”) and return on investment (“ROI”), assessment of synergy savings from streamlining the restaurant and pub groups. Mr. Landrey also acted as the Operations Team Leader of the Compass Hotel Portfolio, a portfolio consisting of 12 iconic hotels and 12 large-scale retail outlets (the largest hotel portfolio in Western Australia with a secured debt of AU$110 million). Gross profit increased by seven percent through successful revenue growth strategies and managed reductions in costs of goods sold (“COGS”) and wages.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Landrey was a partner at Taylor Woodings, which was acquired by FTI Consulting in 2013.
Mr. Landrey holds a B.E. in Econometrics and Accounting from the University of New South Wales.
