Peter Nolan is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in New York. Mr. Nolan is Co-Leader of the Global Risk & Investigations Practice in North America, which is a part of FTI Consulting’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment. He is also a member of the firm’s Activism and M&A Solutions team and its Anti-Corruption Investigations and Compliance Group.

Mr. Nolan’s practice is responsible for independent monitorship assignments, cybersecurity, geo-political risk and intelligence offerings, anti-money laundering /Bank Secrecy Act (“AML/BSA”) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) compliance assignments, pre-transactional due diligence, business and market intelligence, asset tracing and fraud and internal investigations, amongst other areas.

He has more than 15 years of experience in the investigative and intelligence worlds, with a particular focus in the Financial Services and Alternative Investment sector.  He has overseen pre-IPO due diligence on some of the largest and most high profile offerings and led integrated investigative teams both domestically and overseas on market intelligence assignments in support of trading decisions for numerous alternative investors.

Mr. Nolan has also worked on behalf of clients in the pharmaceutical and chemicals industry in activist and hostile M&A scenarios and has also led cross-segment teams involved in complex litigation and corruption related matters.  With a specific focus on China, Mr. Nolan has also advised numerous energy industry companies on Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States-related matters.

Mr. Nolan has spoken at various programs on a variety of investigative and political risk related matters and developments.

Before joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Nolan was the business intelligence practice leader at another leading risk consulting firm from 2008 to 2011. In this capacity, he oversaw business intelligence and due diligence assignments conducted in more than 30 countries for a variety of multinational clients.

Mr. Nolan began his career at The Philadelphia Inquirer and speaks Mandarin Chinese.
