Robert Gamble is a Senior Managing Director and a national practice leader in the Health Solutions practice of FTI Consulting and is based in Philadelphia, PA.  Mr. Gamble is the national leader for Performance Transformation services and has served as a strategic advisor to CEO's, COO's and CFO's of national and regional health systems, as well as, Academic Medical Centers and Children’s Hospital, on how to organize and implement comprehensive performance transformation initiatives.  He has more than 25 years of healthcare experience including comprehensive performance improvement and expense reduction, revenue cycle performance improvement, shared services and operations integration, advanced analytic's, organizational redesign, management systems design, strategic planning and clinical information management.

As a national practice leader for the Health Solutions practice, Mr. Gamble is responsible for quality assurance and project outcomes and for the application of FTI’s knowledge disciplines, methodologies, and proprietary tools.  In his role as performance transformation leader, Mr. Gamble has helped over forty health systems and/or hospitals identify and implement comprehensive performance improvement initiatives that span from program evaluation and revenue opportunities to labor productivity, supply chain, clinical, and physician enterprise transformation.  His experience ranges from national and large regional systems, to academic medical centers and specialty hospitals (e.g. Children’s and Cancer specialty hospitals).

Mr. Gamble has helped clients implement bottom-line improvements from 2% to 12% of net margin depending on the specific client while focusing on tailoring the program to fit the unique needs and timing of the client.  His teams design custom improvement programs lasting from nine-months to two years and specialize in assisting clients not only in performance transformation, but in cultural transformation as well.  As such, Mr. Gamble and his team assists senior management in everything from strategic board communications to tactical communication and change management plans, to complex project management and PMO structures and lean implementation techniques.

Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Gamble was the national leader for Navigant Consulting’s Revenue Cycle services and was a director in Arthur Andersen’s National Healthcare practice. Prior to consulting, he spent more than nine years in operations and management engineering at a large teaching hospital and a 300-bed community hospital.

Mr. Gamble holds an MBA from Temple University and a BS in industrial engineering from West Virginia University.
