Scott Notarainni is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in New York. He is a member of the Office of the CFO Solutions practice within the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment.

Mr. Notarainni has more than 20 years of professional experience in various leadership roles on corporate finance transformation projects. He is an international financial executive with broad-based exposure in corporate finance and overseas experience.

Mr. Notarainni delivers process improvement, organizational design and enterprise resource planning implementations. He is an expert in record-to-report, procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes and has experience in budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, risk and controls and credit and collections. He also has held both interim and permanent roles within the finance and accounting functions.

Mr. Notarainni worked as an interim Controller for a private equity (“PE”)-owned software company, where he was responsible for the oversight of the accounting operations, including the controls, systems, transaction processing operations and policies and procedures. He reviewed and approved month-end journal entries, ensured that accounts payable were paid in a timely manner, reviewed monthly trial balance sheet and issued timely and complete financial statements.

Prior to that, Mr. Notarainni held an interim CFO role for a PE-owned luxury national retailer, where he was responsible for the accounting and financial planning & analysis (“FP&A”) functions. He reviewed and issued month-end results, improved weekly cash flows, developed monthly forecast improved accounts payable (“AP”) processes, implemented budgeting tools and was also responsible for working with outside auditors to compete year-end audit.

Furthermore, Mr. Notarainni led a team that developed data analytics processes for the financial planning group within a global oil and gas company. The team identified ways to mine the data in the accounting systems and provided improvement recommendations to the current reporting structure and also developed detailed plans to improve the quality of the data and reports for internal usage.

Mr. Notarainni also has led large teams at an international logistics company that improved the order-to-cash, procure-to-pay and record-to-report processes included in a new accounting system implementation. Mr. Notarainni and his team designed the future state processes around a new accounting system with the corporate and local country accounting group in eight different countries. The processes were designed to meet global standards while adapting to the local country requirements and migrated the processes to a shared services center.

Throughout his career, Mr. Notarainni has worked in finance and accounting directly for Fortune 50 companies. In addition, he has assisted companies in various industries in solving process efficiency, risk management, technology and profitability challenges. His industry experience includes consumer products, technology, manufacturing, financial institutions, healthcare, logistics, pharmaceuticals and oil and gas.

Mr. Notarainni holds a B.A. in International Relations from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in International Finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University.
