Wayne T. Gibson is a Senior Managing Director in the FTI Consulting Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice and is based in Washington, DC. He has 15 years of experience applying economic and financial modeling, data-intensive analysis, and complex claims analyses across numerous industries and in a variety of compliance matters and dispute types including government investigations, nationwide class-action litigation, breach of contract litigation, post-acquisition disputes, civil anti-trust litigation, and arbitrations. Prior to joining FTI Consulting he served as a director with another international litigation consulting firm and as a manager in a consulting division of a Big Five accounting firm.

Mr. Gibson has worked extensively in the healthcare and life sciences industries often performing financial, exposure and damage analyses using large, complex data sets.  He has assisted health plans, providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers and PBMs with compliance reviews, DOJ investigations and OIG investigations, pricing and sales and marketing matters, billing disputes, class actions defense, fraud and abuse and other internal investigations. Mr. Gibson has submitted expert reports in litigation and arbitration matters and has testified in arbitration matters. Significant matters Mr. Gibson has worked on include:

Medicare and Medicaid Investigations - has assisted a variety of clients including health plans, pharmaceutical manufacturers, institutional providers, diagnostic lab testing companies, and their outside counsel in responding to governmental investigations and in conducting internal investigations related to Medicaid and Medicare false claims and fraud and abuse issues as well as issues related to statutory and SEC reporting. These investigations encompass issues such as reimbursement, pricing, Medical Loss Ratios and cost reporting, and sales and marketing. As part of these investigations have assisted counsel in discussions with DOJ, OIG, state Medicaid agencies, and the SEC.

Compliance and Operational Reviews – has assisted a variety of clients with compliance reviews related to government programs, other contractually-mandated reviews, and operational assessments of controls, data and information systems, and relationships with third parties/sub-contractors.

Litigation and Commercial Disputes (Healthcare and Other Industries)  – has assisted a variety of clients and their outside counsel in defense of nationwide class-action matters, federal and state court litigation, international arbitration, and arbitration and mediation matters.  Has developed and submitted expert reports on damages in a number of forums and testified in arbitration matters.
