Jack Schwager is a director in the FTI Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice and is based in Chicago. Mr. Schwager has professional experience in litigation consulting, forensic accounting and investigation, public accounting, and financial advisory services. He specializes in matters involving assessment of economic damages and business valuation in commercial disputes as well as forensic accounting and investigation. Mr. Schwager’s overall industry experience includes manufacturing, banking, consumer finance, commercial finance, investment companies, insurance, high-tech and telecommunications.

Mr. Schwager had provided dispute advisory services to support the various phases of the litigation process including discovery, claim analysis, damage analysis, preparation of expert reports, deposition and trial testimony, and development of demonstrative evidence. Mr. Schwager has managed cases involving breach of contract claims; GAAP and GAAS standards; accounting irregularities and SEC issues; fraudulent activities; claims against directors & officers; post-acquisition disputes regarding post-closing adjustments and claims for indemnification; restatements; product liability; insurance claims; causes of business failure or distress; solvency and insolvency; fraudulent conveyances; and fraudulent transfers. He has extensive experience performing industry and market analyses and calculating economic damages based on lost profits, diminution of business value, and costs incurred.

Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Schwager spent three years in the assurance and advisory practices of Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen. Mr. Schwager holds a B.B.A. in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame.  He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Illinois and is Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He is a member of the Forensic and Valuation Services Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
