Robert Gamble is a senior managing director in FTI Healthcare and is based in Philadelphia. Mr. Gamble is the national leader for revenue cycle services at FTI Healthcare. He has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, including revenue cycle performance improvement, operations integration, operations analysis and improvement, process reengineering, organizational redesign, management systems design, strategic planning and clinical information management.

Under Mr. Gamble’s direction, a system-wide patient access model was designed and implemented across 33 hospital systems in the west. Mr. Gamble also directed a denial management and patient access redesign integration. He has directed four revenue cycle implementation and cash acceleration and receivables improvement projects, which were focused on improving process stability and increasing cash and net revenue.

Mr. Gamble has created, developed and launched diagnostic and workflow tools to support revenue cycle performance improvements. He has guided the revenue management assessment redesign, organizational integration and implementation efforts among a world renowned academic medical center, its 900 physician practice plans and a health system consisting of two additional community hospitals. The enterprise wide initiative, with over $1.2 billion in revenue, has already yielded $50 million in increased cash collections.

Mr. Gamble has managed numerous concurrent revenue cycle projects for a large academic medical center, including the design of a new customer service function, the redesign of cash management and document imaging functions and an operations improvement initiative at an outsourcing partner. Mr. Gamble also has participated in the assessment and redesign of numerous claims management and accounts receivable process for payers, third-party administrators, hospitals, physician providers and outside billing companies.

Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Gamble worked for Navigant Consulting, Arthur Andersen, Teaching Hospital Operations and Community Hospital Operations. Mr. Gamble was the national leader for revenue cycle services at Navigant Consulting and a director in Arthur Andersen’s National Healthcare practice. Prior to that, he spent more than eight years in operations and management engineering at a large teaching hospital and a 300-bed community hospital.

Mr. Gamble holds an M.B.A. from Temple University and a B.S. in industrial engineering from West Virginia University. In 2006, he was the speaker for the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. In 2004, he was a speaker at the National Meeting of American College of Healthcare Executives.
