Mr. Scadron’s transaction experience includes numerous mergers and acquisitions and private placements in various sectors in the communications industry. He has performed due diligence, quality of earnings and assurance testing for major international financial institutions, investors and hedge funds, requiring analysis and review of sensitive financial information about target companies predominately in the communications industry. Target companies have included competitive local exchange carriers, mobile wireless, paging, long distance, fiber optic and cable multi-service operators throughout the Americas.
Mr. Scadron’s diligence experience has required the development and integration of large and varied databases in situations of extreme sensitivity and nuance. He headed a multinational team, which was retained by the Mexican government to perform due diligence and sale of $5 billion in defaulted commercial loans. Under his direction, the team analyzed data records from multiple institutions to construct one database of loans, verified its accuracy and presented it for use by investors from all over the world. The same methodology was adopted for use in Korea and Japan in later years, as those countries also dealt with problems in their banking sectors. In addition, Mr. Scadron had a lead roll in a massive government investigation of bank and company records in alleged money laundering by a major international banking institution.
Mr. Scadron has published extensively on the subject of technological convergence in the telecommunications and entertainment industry, including the impact of voice over internet protocol and packet switching on wireless and wireline carriers, cable operators and entertainment content companies. Other published works include topics in neutrality and communications industry investment trends.
Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Scadron was a director in the Financial Advisory Services group for Price Waterhouse and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mr. Scadron holds an M.B.A. in finance from the Wharton School of Business of University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He has received certification in distressed business valuation and is a certified insolvency and restructuring advisor. Mr. Scadron also holds the National Association of Securities Dealers’ general securities representative (series 7) license. He is a member of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors. Mr. Scadron is bilingual in Spanish and conversant in Portuguese. |
