Juror Profiling Telephone Survey Juror profiling through a telephone survey of a stratified sample of adults eligible for jury duty in the trial venue helps FTI litigation support professionals create profiles of plaintiff/high-damages jurors and defense jurors. The sample – which is stratified to ensure proportional representation of the counties from which the trial venue draws its jurors – includes information on demographics, experiences, perceptions, attitudes and reactions to case scenarios.
Based on the results, FTI provides the trial team and corporate client with a report and appendix, as well as develops a voir dire strategy.
Venue Profiling Telephone Survey A venue profiling telephone survey of two or more venues can identify the venue in which the client is viewed most favorably and the opposing side viewed least favorably. Such a survey also can be used to identify the community perceptions of a company and general community attitudes about key case issues prior to a trial.
A “change of venue” telephone survey is a special type of venue profiling survey in which the findings can be submitted to the court in support of a request to change the trial venue. The survey is characterized by a rigorous methodology that can withstand challenges by the opposing side. We recommend including one or more alternative trial venues in the survey to support a request for transfer to a specific alternate site and to counter the opposing side's suggestions to transfer the case to an unfavorable site.
