Diversity and Inclusion at FTI Consulting
Being an inclusive employer is an essential part of FTI Consulting’s growth strategy. We recognize that our future success depends on our ability to provide definitive and diverse expertise to our clients, which can be achieved only if we foster a culture of diversity among our talent pool. FTI Consulting is committed to creating an inclusive culture and supportive workplace in which all of our people feel comfortable coming to work and being themselves; where everyone is afforded the same opportunities to achieve their personal and professional goals; and where everyone is encouraged to develop, grow and achieve their full potential.
FTI Consulting Policies on Diversity & Inclusion – Code of ConductDiversity
For our Company to succeed as a global professional services firm, we must strive to reflect the diversity of the communities in which we operate. That means we must maintain a workplace atmosphere that attracts, develops and retains people from various backgrounds. If we do not treat one another with respect, we will not maintain a comfortable and professional atmosphere. Our professionalism is vital to building our Company’s reputation and retaining our diverse talent base. Together, we must strive to create a workplace that is free from discrimination and harassment.Equal Opportunity and Nondiscrimination
Discriminating against someone for his or her traits is a violation of our Code, Company policies and, in some cases, the law. Such actions have no place within FTI Consulting. FTI Consulting does not discriminate against others on the basis of race, color, gender, age, sexual orientation or identity, national origin, ethnicity, religion, marital status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability or veteran status. Our Company makes employment-related decisions based on merit. To be clear, “employment-related decisions” include those involving the hiring, placement, promotion, demotion, transfer, training, compensation, benefits and termination of personnel.
At FTI Consulting, our diversity and inclusion efforts expand globally through a multi-pronged approach focused on Recruitment, Development, Engagement and Outreach.Recruiting
We are focused on hiring diverse talent at the intern, entry and experienced levels across FTI Consulting. We have several programs in place to raise awareness about the importance of diversity and inclusion while fostering employee development, engagement and outreach:Diversity Ambassadors
FTI Consulting’s Diversity Ambassador Program is grounded in the philosophy that diversity of thought promotes innovation and enables us to bring new ideas to solve our clients’ challenges and build our business. Diversity Ambassadors are committed to creating an environment where all professionals feel valued and have access to opportunities for growth and development. Engagement and outreach provide the ability to strengthen professional networks, forge bonds among co-workers from different backgrounds, viewpoints and levels and give back to the community.FTI Consulting’s Diversity Panel Series
The firm’s diversity panel series brings Diversity & Inclusion (“D&I”) thought leaders, clients and strategic partners to share professional and personal stories of the best practices, challenges and critical business considerations involved in implementing successful D&I programs. A recent D&I panel discussion in Washington, D.C. brought together professionals from Fortune 500 corporations and nonprofit groups with deep experience in transforming their own organizations and helping other organizations institute best practices as well.Heritage Celebrations
With hopes to educate and spark meaningful dialogue, Diversity Ambassadors in the U.S. host monthly events to acknowledge national celebrations, such as Black History Month, Women’s History Month and LGBTQ Pride. Professionals across the U.S. participate in volunteer opportunities in their local communities on Martin Luther King Day to honor Dr. King’s legacy of service.Community Outreach
Diversity Ambassadors continue to seek and provide opportunities where professionals can engage with their local communities through mentoring and volunteering. Educational volunteer partnerships include the Development School for Youth, the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs’ Public Education Project and the Urban Assembly School for Law & Justice

London’s Balance Network
FTI Consulting is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace in which all of us feel able to come to work and be ourselves, our whole selves; where everyone is afforded the same opportunities to achieve their personal and professional goals; and where everyone is encouraged to develop and grow to their full potential. We believe that everyone should be included regardless of their differences in age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, religion or sexual orientation.
Our London office’s Balance Network has been established with the express intention of ensuring that all colleagues – regardless of background – are properly supported by the firm. The team has established four networks to provide colleagues with a source of advice, an opportunity to share experiences, a forum for debate and resources to find what they need:
- FTI WIN Network – our international network for women.
- BAME Network – our network for people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups.
- LGBTQ Network – our network for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer colleagues.
- Mind and Body Network – our network that supports those dealing with illness – mental or physical – and additional care responsibilities.
