Meet Our People

Who better to give you an idea of what working at FTI Consulting is like than the people who already work here?

In His Own Words — Manish Lakkamsani

Manish currently is a Consultant in the Transaction Services practice within the Corporate Finance segment. Manish is based in Chicago, Illinois.

I graduated from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business in May 2017 majoring in accounting and finance. I interned with the Transaction Advisory Services practice the summer of my Junior year and returned to the group post-graduation.

As a consultant in Transaction Services, I work on due diligence teams to help represent buyers, sellers or lenders, and offer support in evaluating opportunities across the risk/return spectrum. During my time here, I have been a part of several projects and what I enjoy the most is that no two projects are alike. This is by far the most interesting aspect of my work because I am constantly learning new things. Transitioning out of college, FTI Consulting has been a great platform for me to begin my career and I hope that with further experience I will continue to professionally grow.

In Her Own Words — Krista Bommarito

Krista currently is a Consultant on the Health Solutions team. She is based in Chicago, Illinois.

I interned with FTI Consulting the summer before my senior year of college. My summer consisted of challenging work and great analytic training. As much as I enjoyed the work, the caliber of people stood out to me the most – the people and culture were ultimately what lead me to start my career with FTI Consulting after graduation.

Since starting full-time, I have worked with a variety of different hospitals where no client’s problem is the same. The variety of work pushes me to get outside my comfort zone and I have learned so much in such a short period of time. My favorite thing about FTI Consulting is the opportunity for both professional and personal growth. Although I am one of the youngest members on the team, I am given a lot of responsibility and always encouraged to offer my opinions and ideas.

In His Own Words — Juan Salcedo

Juan currently is a Consultant on the Data & Analytics team within the Forensic and Litigation Consulting segment. Juan is based in New York, New York.

FTI Consulting was my first full-time opportunity after college. I graduated in May 2017 from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Information Management & Technology, concentrating in Project Management and Web Design. Although I wasn’t exactly set on a specific career upon the start of my senior year, I knew that my major had prepared me for success in project-based roles.

I’m now part of the Data & Analytics team within FTI Consulting’s Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice out of the NYC office. Currently, I’m working on Mortgage-Backed Securities cases along with a group of intelligent and highly motivated individuals who push me to solve problems beyond what I believe my capabilities are. Although it comes with its challenges at times, I’m constantly learning something new.

As a Consultant at FTI Consulting, I’ve been given a huge amount of trust and responsibility that I probably would not have received at many firms during the first year. It is a great place to start a career and grow both professionally and personally.

In His Own Words — Carlos Paez

Carlos is a Senior Consultant in the Economic and Financial Consulting practice in our Washington D.C. office. He was previously an Analyst for our subsidiary Compass Lexecon.

FTI Consulting was my first job in the private sector and it has so far been an incredibly rewarding and educational experience. I studied political science and history in college, as I was broadly interested in public policy. I have since worked for government and nonprofit agencies at the state level, and as a research assistant for two economists at Harvard.

Yet, FTI Consulting and Compass Lexecon have truly allowed me to be at intersection of economics, public policy, and business in way that no other job could. The work I do is both challenging and rewarding. I have been on numerous cases where I have had a chance to observe and analyze the real-world policy applications of economic theory I used to only read about. I also get to work with highly talented individuals who are always eager to teach you or help you. In fact, I am always learning on the job, whether from my peers, superiors, or even our clients.

In Her Own Words — Christina Luu

Christina is a Consultant in the Data & Analytics group within the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment. She is based in San Francisco, California.

Upon graduating from UC San Diego with a degree in Economics & International Business, I was largely unsure of the type of career I wanted to pursue. I knew that I wanted a dynamic job with an analytical component; FTI Consulting’s Data & Analytics (D&A) team turned out to be a great fit.

Throughout my time at FTI Consulting thus far, I have learned and developed so many technical and professional skills through official company training programs, as well as on-the-job experience with the support and mentorship of my colleagues. Even as an entry-level Consultant you are expected to deliver quality work and will be tasked with increasing levels of responsibility. The work can be challenging at times, but some of the greatest aspects of working here are the potential for growth, emphasis on work-life balance, and the cool people you meet from offices from coast-to-coast.
