Brian Flynn is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting. He leads the Operations Improvement practice for the Health Solutions segment. For the past 25 years, Mr. Flynn has provided financial, operational and strategic advisory services to healthcare providers.
Mr. Flynn has extensive experience in margin improvement for hospitals and has spent much of his career in implementing solutions in the revenue cycle, labor/productivity/process, supply chain, OR/perioperative, clinical effectiveness, clinical documentation and physician practice operations areas.
Specifically, Mr. Flynn has a broad and deep experience in all aspects of hospital operations and leads many of our performance improvement efforts throughout the country at complex AMC’s, safety net and community hospitals. Additionally, he has extensive experience in overseeing all components of the Physician Enterprise, including Access Services, Ambulatory Operations, Contracting, Funds Flow, Governance, and Physician Engagement.
Prior to working with FTI Consulting, Mr. Flynn had more than 19 years of advisory services experience, including three years as a Partner in EYs Health Care practice, where he was a Principal and National Performance Optimization Leader and Northeast Healthcare Advisory Market. He also served more than 3 years as a Director with PWC, where he was the Revenue Cycle practice leader for the East Region.
In addition to Mr. Flynn’s advisory experience, he also served as Corporate Vice President of Revenue Cycle Operations at Continuum Health Partners in New York for five years. In that role he was responsible for managing the Revenue Cycle Processes for Continuum’s Hospital’s including Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, and Long Island College Hospital.
Continuum’s hospitals totaled approximately 2,500 beds and had revenues in excess of two billion dollars. Mr. Flynn was also responsible for managing the Revenue Cycle for Continuum’s 400+ Faculty Practice Physician’s in over 40 medical specialties.
Mr. Flynn holds a B.S. in Health Management from Quinnipiac College.
