Chris George is a Senior Managing Director in the Health Solutions segment and leads the Health Solutions' Strategy and Business Development practice.
For the past 25 years, Mr. George has provided financial, operational and strategic advisory services to healthcare providers and companies that service them. Mr. George has advised private equity firms on both buy and sell side transactions in various areas of healthcare, including physician practice management, revenue cycle and healthcare technology. Mr. George has also advised on legal matters in the healthcare technology space.
Mr. George’s expertise combines performance improvement and organizational strategy with practical, hands-on experience driving cultural change across healthcare companies such as large integrated health systems, academic medical centers, community hospitals and private equity-backed healthcare ventures. Teams under Mr. George's direction have improved patient quality and reduced costs by implementing solutions in many areas, including physician practice operations, revenue cycle, labor and productivity, supply chain and procedural care. Mr. George has also worked with many health systems on achieving integration objectives in buy and sell side merger integrations.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. George founded Think First, a boutique consulting firm focused on performance improvement for medical groups and physician practice management companies. Under his leadership, Think First improved patient access, streamlined clinic operations, aligned physicians, improved productivity, and accelerated the revenue cycle for thousands of physicians nationwide. In addition to his consulting experience, Mr. George has served in the executive suite at the Medical University of South Carolina and University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In these roles, he led organizational transformations in the areas of information technology, physician practice operations and revenue cycle.
In addition to his professional experience, Mr. George is a member of the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) Board Finance Committee. He is also Trustee and Chairman of the Finance Committee for Beverly Hospital, a member of BILH. BILH is an integrated, Massachusetts-based healthcare system that was formed to combine academic medical centers and teaching hospitals, community and specialty hospitals, and over 4,000 physicians and 35,000 employees in a shared mission to expand access to care.
Mr. George holds a B.A. in healthcare administration from Stonehill College and his M.S. in computer information systems from Bentley University. A strong leader and innovator in healthcare information systems management, Mr. George is an active member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Mr. George is also a Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS).
