About David
David Farkas is a Managing Director in the Activism and M&A Solutions practice at FTI Consulting and based in New York. Mr. Farkas is the practice lead for FTI Consulting’s Shareholder Insights & Intelligence offering that focuses on stock surveillance, activism vulnerabilities and investor targeting.
Mr. Farkas brings extensive experience in client advisory and engagement leadership within the financial services sector. Mr. Farkas has developed relationships with hundreds of corporate clients on investor relations best practices, real-time shareholder activist identification and intelligence and shareholder outreach strategies. His expertise also extends to companies involved in pre-IPO engagements.
Mr. Farkas also advises management teams on New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq listing best practices, assisting those companies to regain listing compliance on those exchanges.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Farkas was a Director in the Global Markets Intelligence group at Ipreo (subsequently acquired by IHS Markit, then S&P Global). In this role, he advised C-suite and Investor Relations professionals on corporate strategies and shareholder insights in various sectors, mostly spanning the broader consumer discretionary space.
Mr. Farkas also provided oversight to Ipreo’s Shareholder Activist Intelligence efforts, delivering daily insights into long-term institution and hedge fund positions to corporate clients and consulting them on activist investor tendencies and trends. Earlier in his career, Mr. Farkas served as a Director in the Corporate Advisory Services group of Thomson Reuters.
