About David
David Gruber, M.D., has 30+ years of diversified healthcare experience in medical devices, pharma/consumer products and healthcare services. During his career, he has had experience in strategic planning, acquisitions, business development, corporate development, and technology assessment.
Prior to working at FTI Consulting, Dr. Gruber was a Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal where he responsible for thought leadership and analytic-related projects. He also served as the Vice President of Planning and Business Development for the $1.6 billion medical device sector at Bristol-Myers Squibb where he led strategic planning for each of the Divisions.
In addition, Dr. Gruber previously served as the Vice President of Corporate Development and New Ventures at the Johnson & Johnson Consumer Group of Companies and served as a Senior Equity Research Analyst on Wall Street at Lehman Brothers and Piper Jaffray. At Johnson & Johnson, he was responsible for corporate and business development initiatives. At Lehman Brothers and Piper Jaffray Dr. Gruber covered 15-20 medical device companies and was rated a top-10 analyst. He was also the lead manager for the Intuitive Surgical (robotics) and Given Imaging IPOs as well as a merchant banking investment in Therasense.
Dr. Gruber holds a M.D. from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He was a Kellogg Foundation National Fellow in 1990 through 1993.
