J. Michael Knoll is a Senior Director in FTI Consulting’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and is also a member of FTI Consulting’s Construction, Environmental and Government Contracts practice and is based in Seattle, WA.
Mr. Knoll has more than 13 years of experience performing financial and cost analysis, fraud investigations, financial modeling, and forensic auditing with a focus on complex damage analysis and the preparation of expert reports. He has extensive experience in the construction industry and served as an expert for both owners and contractors both in the United States and internationally.
Mr. Knoll has significant experience preparing and analyzing construction claims, conducting fraud investigations and contract audits, performing change order and claim analyses, as well as lost profit and delay and disruption analyses. Mr. Knoll has experience serving companies in the construction, real estate & infrastructure, healthcare, renewable energy, pulp and paper, telecommunications, and heavy equipment manufacturing industries.
Mr. Knoll’s litigation consulting experience includes the analysis of delay and disruption impacts; conducting forensic accounting investigations to analyze, quantify, and document fraudulent transactions; preparing numerous financial and accounting analyses for use in arbitration, mediation and formal court settings; preparing expert reports to explain damages methodologies and calculations; presenting independent findings during mediation proceedings; assisting counsel during depositions, hearings, arbitrations, mediations and trial; and providing expert witness testimony.
Mr. Knoll has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Dartmouth College. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
