James Bracken

Jim Bracken joined FTI Consulting in 2011 and is a Managing Director in its Global Risk & Investigations Practice. He provides investigative and analytic solutions to clients across an array of industries including legal and financial services, hedge funds, consumer goods, and technology.

Representative engagements include a bank compliance monitorship and transaction review spanning ten countries, on behalf of a U.S. financial services regulator; an internal fraud investigation for which Mr. Bracken wrote code to analyze and visualize a large set of payroll data; a securities litigation support matter for a group of defendants, where Mr. Bracken collected and analyzed public records and human intelligence that countered the claims made by the plaintiffs; and a business intelligence matter for a hedge fund seeking to better understand the business risks associated with a publicly-held technology company and the prospects of its key product offering.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Bracken was a Director in the Business Intelligence and Investigations practice of Kroll Associates. He joined Kroll as an Analyst, initially responsible for vendor integrity investigations on some of New York City’s largest construction projects. Subsequently, Mr. Bracken served as the lead analyst on large-scale brand integrity and anti-counterfeiting matters, where his analysis of data and procurement of intelligence led to multi-million dollar judgments for his clients. While at Kroll, Mr. Bracken also managed matters such as due diligence investigations, asset searches, internal investigations, and contests for corporate control.

Mr. Bracken received an M.Sc. in Decision Sciences, with distinction, from The London School of Economics and a B.A. in Philosophy, cum laude, from New York University. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and is licensed as a Private Investigator in the State of New York.
