Jonathon Brill is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting. He works in the Strategic Communications segment and is based in London. Mr. Brill has 30 years of experience in financial and corporate communications of which the last 11 years have been at FTI Consulting.
At FTI Consulting Mr. Brill has built one of the UK’s leading retail and consumer sector specialist franchises, and leads the advisory teams on retained clients including Inchcape, Kingfisher, Matalan, DFS, HMV, Hilco, Bonmarche and Shoezone, as well as leading the team advising on RUSAL.
Mr. Brill advises his retained clients on their ongoing corporate and financial communications programmes covering financial calendar reporting, thought leadership programmes, crisis management issues and brand development.
Mr. Brill has also advised on a wide range of high profile M&A transactions and IPOs. He advised John Hargreaves on his bid and take private of Matalan; Genting Berhad on their offer for Stanley Leisure, Paul Taylor on his proposed bid for Sainsbury and SABMiller on its acquisition of Fosters. He has also advised on a range of sports and business of sport situations including the acquisitions of Liverpool Football Club, Arsenal Football Club and Newcastle United. In addition he has advised a number of sports bodies and clubs including The MCC, the ELTA (Wimbledon) and The European Tour.
In the last year Mr. Brill has led the teams on a range of successful UK Leisure and Retail IPO’s including DFS, Bonmarche, Shoezone and Fever-Tree.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting Mr. Brill was Managing Director of Bell Pottinger Financial where he worked for 13 years. At Bell Pottinger he advised clients such as BSkyB and Asda for 10 years through their acquisition by Wal-Mart.
