Josh Wilcox is a senior expert within the Real Estate practice's Investment Administration and Reporting service offering. Mr. Wilcox brings years of experience as a finance leader and advisor to real estate private equity funds, REITs, institutional investors, and owners. In his role, Mr. Wilcox oversees FTI Consulting's relationships with public and privately held real estate companies, helping these companies to scale their middle and back-office functions through strategic outsourcing partnerships.
Mr. Wilcox has over 15 years of experience, with more than 10 of those years focused on strategy, finance, and operations for real estate investors across the capital stack. He has worked on the consulting side assisting investors in building out their operating models and growth initiatives and on the services side, building and growing a global real estate fund administration business. On the investing side, Mr. Wilcox managed finance and operations for private funds at a large alternative investment manager.
Most recently, Mr. Wilcox was in the Real Estate group at Varde Partners, a global investment management firm. In this role, he worked across the business on operations, finance, treasury, strategy, reporting, capital markets, loan servicing, and fund formation. The practice invested in a range of asset classes and products in both debt and equity, including direct lending, secondary acquisitions, RMBS, CMBS, CMBX, and MSRs.
Prior to Varde Partners, Mr. Wilcox was a key leader in the build-out of CBRE Group, Inc.’s real estate fund administration business, where he served as Managing Director and Head of Strategy & Business Development for CBRE Global Investment Administration. In this role, he was responsible for product management, corporate development, business development, and global strategy.
Before CBRE, Mr. Wilcox worked at Deloitte & Touche serving real estate clients, including public and private REITs, MREITs, private real estate investors, and private equity firms. Mr. Wilcox has also held positions with Citigroup and Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Wilcox has a B.S in Finance and Management from Augustana University. He has an M.B.A. with a focus in Strategic Management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also spent time studying in China and the United Kingdom.
