Justin McCarty specializes in analyzing financial statements, financial models and cash flows, managing merger and acquisitions teams, performing synergy assessments, implementations and communicating findings effectively. Mr. McCarty has over 20 years of professional experience providing financial and operational consulting, M&A transaction advisory, merger integration and interim financial management services to a variety of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, private equity, mezzanine and senior lenders.
Throughout more than 100 transactions, Mr. McCarty has advised clients across the healthcare, food, consumer packaged goods, chemical, industrial manufacturing, automotive, business services and technology industries, amongst others. His experience is primarily in M&A due diligence; however, he also aids his clients in executing strategic performance improvement initiatives, modeling, carve-outs, merger integration, profitability and cash flows. He works extensively to guide clients through acquisitions or divesting non-strategic assets to achieve their financial goals.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. McCarty was a Managing Director at a nationally recognized advisory firm in the Transaction Advisory practice, where he supervised teams in areas of financial and operational buy- and sell-side due diligence. He also assisted executive-level clients in the early identification of transaction issues or performance improvement opportunities, evaluation of post-acquisition synergies and the sustainability of earnings/cash flow.
Before that, Mr. McCarty was a Manager in the Financial Due Diligence Transaction Services practice at a Big-Four accounting firm.
- Led strategic pricing initiatives focusing on cost accounting validation, market and customer segmentation, strategic development by product/customer and ultimately implementation/monitoring. Mr. McCarty constructed and utilized robust data warehouses to arrive at EBITDA by product/customer to assist executive management’s decision-making.
- Served as interim Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for a private equity purchased carve-out business. He was effective in leading the business through a successful refinance process while mining and synthesizing poor quality financial data to model and present strategic options to the CEO, CFO and private equity led board of directors.
