About Kim D.
Kim D. Desrosiers is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Environmental Solutions practice within the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment.
Ms. Desrosiers' expertise has brought about cutting-edge thought leadership in support of the resolution of complex environmental disputes in the cost allocation context, particularly in the area of geospatial data, developing both the APGIS (Allocation Process GIS) and AEGIS (Advocacy Environment GIS) systems. These systems are intuitive, multi-user web-based platforms delivering complex data and information in a simplified form, dramatically reducing the transactional costs associated with environmental cost allocation procedures. Ms. Desrosiers has also served as a 30(b)(6) witness to one of the country’s oldest and largest multinational corporations.
Using Ms. Desrosiers' decades-long experience as a cost allocation expert and neutral in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes involving environmental claims, environmental forensics, Potentially Responsible Party (PRP) identification, historical reconstruction of engineered pathways/sewers and other industrial and contaminant of concern research, she develops information solutions for large groups of PRPs that leverages their common interests. This leveraging translates into greatly reduced PRP assessments, particularly for Superfund “mega sites.”
Ms. Desrosiers’ information solution assignments have involved the analysis of water, sediment and solid/hazardous waste issues, and historical industrial manufacturing practices and standards, with a specialization in polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) and mercury use for cost allocation recommendations or expert opinions.
In addition, Ms. Desrosiers' internet-based geographic information systems (GIS) are used to support counsel and business leaders in decision-making on multiple high-stakes allocation procedures. She is currently engaged on two mega-site ADR procedures involving claims of greater than 4 billion dollars.
