Oli Winton is a Senior Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment and is based in London. A member of the Public Affairs team, Mr. Winton specializes in parliamentary engagement campaigns and the workings of central government.
Mr. Winton has more than 15 years of experience in public affairs and previously worked for two backbench members of Parliament (“MPs”) in the House of Commons, former U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy and in the communications department of the World Bank in Washington, D.C. He also worked with the Labour Party over the 2010 and 2015 election campaigns.
Mr. Winton has worked on a wide range of clients in consultancy, from assisting Nike with regulatory issues around the 2012 Olympics to plans for the redistribution of RBS shares to the taxpayer by HM Treasury. At FTI Consulting, he has supported and, in many cases continues to support, clients including Virgin Group, Macquarie Group, Heart of London Business Alliance, Arora Group, Bristol Airport, AEG Europe and MasterCard.
Along with Mr. Winton’s core public affairs work, he has also undertaken a variety of sports and leisure work at FTI Consulting. This includes supporting Usain Bolt’s technology investments, Saracens with their handling of sanctions regarding rugby’s salary cap, the acquisition of a Premier League football club, a project for AEG Europe as owners of London’s The O2 Arena and Sky Bet’s sponsorship of the English Football League (“EFL”).
Outside of work, Mr. Winton is an elected committee member for the independent Manchester United supporters’ trust (“MUST”) and sits on Manchester United’s Fan Advisory Board. He is also on the Corporate Advisory Committee for Street League, a national charity using sport to assist finding employment opportunities for young adults. He holds a B.A. from the University of Leeds in Politics and Parliamentary Studies.
