Omar Aguilar focuses on broad and rapid enterprise transformation efforts, and on providing innovative and lasting solutions to clients at the CEO and board levels, in the U.S. and globally, when their more important issues are at stake. Mr. Aguilar’s areas of expertise include strategic cost transformation, margin improvement, restructuring, turnarounds, disruptive cost strategies, broad enterprise transformations and business model transformation enabled by “save-to-turnaround,” “save-to-grow” and “save-to-transform” strategies to achieve sustainable results.
Within FTI Consulting, he co-leads the Enterprise Transformation Practice, and leads the Energy & Industrials Business Transformation Practice.
An externally-recognized cost management and enterprise transformation expert, Mr. Aguilar has published widely on the topic of sustainable and scalable cost management and has been quoted by or has written for Business Strategic Finance, The Journal of Cost Management and The Wall Street Journal, among others. He is a frequent outside speaker and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, Stanford University’s GBS and Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. Aguilar was a Senior Partner at Deloitte Consulting LLP for 17 years where he was the global leader of the Strategic Cost Transformation Practice, from 2015 to 2020, with services offered in over 32 countries globally. From 2011 to 2016, he served global and multilatina companies in Latin America, serving as America’s Regional Strategy & Operations Leader from 2011 through 2016. During 2013 and 2014, following the acquisition of the Monitor Group, he also served as Managing Partner for Monitor Deloitte Brasil in Sao Paulo. Mr. Aguilar joined Deloitte in 2004, following Deloitte’s acquisition of Gunn Partners, where he served as its Managing Director. Gunn Partners was a specialized consultancy, focused on organizational strategy and business transformation, leveraging its unique “lean consulting” philosophy to implement sustainable client results.
Prior to consulting, Mr. Aguilar spent 10 years at a leading energy company, American Electric Power (AEP), where he held engineering and management positions at AEP’s Nuclear Generation Group.
