Russ Cooper is a Managing Director in the Business Transformation practice and specializes in operations and revenue growth. Mr. Cooper has proven expertise in developing and delivering competitive supply chain advantage for clients. He has over 30 years of experience in supply chain strategy and operations improvement. Mr. Cooper has been responsible for leading and implementing complex change initiatives, and has successfully delivered tangible benefits in the consumer products, retail, mining, industrial products, oil and gas, chemicals, electronics and financial services industries.
Mr. Cooper has worked with a variety of companies on a vast array of issues and objectives. In regards to supply chain, Mr. Cooper led the standardization and simplification initiative for a large builder by conducting a software application evaluation and selection for supply chain operations. He also identified $59 million in annual savings through the optimization of product flows for a $34 billion company by leading an analysis-based evaluation of the supply chain network by balancing distribution method, merchandising approach, customer terms and net-landed-cost.
In regards to manufacturing and logistics, Mr. Cooper directed the manufacturing footprint optimization for a $760 million global specialty chemicals manufacturer, where he identified over $10 million in annual savings by rationalizing manufacturing assets globally, resulting in improved utilization and positioning for growth. He also built logistics capabilities for a $1.2 billion crop nutrient distributor by developing an organization structure and process to control inbound purchased product shipments based on lowest net-landed-cost.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Cooper worked at various management consulting firms where he was responsible for the development, implementation and execution of many operational improvement programs. His project experience focused on rapid benefits realization in the areas of asset rationalization, manufacturing, supply chain and process standardization.
Mr. Cooper holds a B.B.A. in Computer Science and Operations Research from Kent State University.
