Healthcare providers and healthcare organizations are not immune to economic hardships and innovation teams need to be adaptable. There is a greater emphasis on the ROI of new innovation, approaching lower risk options, and a shift to focusing on the near-term solutions to overall system improvement.
Innovation by definition is ahead of the curve but with new timelines in place ideas need to solve problems now while also setting up for future advancements. Innovation and what it means to be innovative are hard to describe. The innovative approach to healthcare is not always to build something never before seen but to build upon, learn from, and adapt the innovative ideas that are being used already and have seen success.
Creating meaningful efficiency programs for clinicians and staff are a method of tangible innovation that teams are seeing today. In an effort to curb burnout and stress, automation and new mobile technologies are being explored to streamline day to day processes.
