Barry Edmonstone–West

Dr. Barry Edmonstone-West expertise lies across the energy sector and he has advised major players ranging from oil & gas majors to international energy producers. He helps organisations tackle market challenges and craft long-term strategies into viable business plans.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Barry led Group Strategy at Johnson Matthey and at BG Group, reporting directly to the executive team and Board of Directors for group strategy development and ongoing portfolio review. He also spent 9 years at McKinsey, overseeing projects such as overhauling global strategy for an oil & gas major and developing a new growth strategy for the merger of two of the world’s largest mining companies.

Barry earned a PhD in Fluid Mechanics (Chemical Engineering and Mathematics) from Imperial College London, publishing 8 papers and serving as the Imperial College Union Chair. He has also been published in the Harvard Business Review.
