Stephen Dubé is a member of the Interim Management practice and specializes in providing advisory services to companies, investors and lenders in connection with telecommunications, cable, digital media and network equipment sectors. Mr. Dubé has more than 20 years of experience in operating, restructuring and investing and has served as Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”), Chief Restructuring Officer (“CRO”) and principal on-site Operating Executive on numerous restructuring engagements. He has industry expertise in telecom, media and technology (“TMT”).
Client engagements in which Mr. Dubé was appointed as an executive officer include serving as CEO of Birch Telecom, a competitive local exchange carrier; as CRO of Broadstripe, a regional cable, internet and phone service provider; as CRO of PRC, a provider of outsourced call centers and business processes; and as CRO of Source Home Entertainment, a wholesale magazine distributor. Mr. Dubé also was the on-site Operations Restructuring Executive in the Chapter 11 restructurings of CTC Communication and Pac-West Telecomm.
Mr. Dubé’s other restructuring clients have included companies in the telecommunications, cable, digital media, subprime lending, construction, network equipment, energy services and entertainment sectors. In addition, Mr. Dubé has performed due diligence reviews, marketing evaluations, operational assessments and performance improvement advisory services for a broad range of companies, lenders and investors in the telecommunications sector.
Mr. Dubé joined FTI Consulting in 2008 with the acquisition of CXO, a turnaround and advisory services firm, of which he was a Principal. Prior to joining CXO, Mr. Dubé was President of Core Networks, a developer of network management software for cable operators’ internet service offerings.
Before that, Mr. Dubé was employed as Vice President of International Development by Canadian telecom and broadcaster Le Groupe Vidéotron and as Chief Operating Officer of its U.S. subsidiary, OpTel, a video, voice and internet provider. Mr. Dubé’s early career included commercial banking, real estate, venture capital and institutional investment roles.
