Vy Manthripragada

Vy Manthripragada is a member of FTI Consulting’s Power, Renewables & Energy Transition practice. She has more than 10 years of experience in the global and U.S. power and renewable energy sectors. Ms. Manthripragada is experienced in strategic advisory to utilities, regulators, independent power producers (“IPPs”), renewable energy project developers and renewable energy financiers. She has worked across a wide range of renewable technologies, including solar, wind, hydro and biomass.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Manthripragada worked at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, the largest investor-owned utility in the United States, where she led the procurement of over 1000 MWs of energy storage and solar power. She was responsible for writing the company’s first front-of-the-meter virtual capacity storage agreement with an energy settlement component designed to incentivize optimal dispatch in high-energy demand periods. Additionally, Ms. Manthripragada led emergency procurement, which included a mix of conventional and renewable resources, and designed innovative market products during severe weather events in California. She is well versed in all U.S. markets and market products, including energy, capacity, renewable energy certificates (“RECs”), Low Carbon Fuel Standard (“LCFS”) credits and greenhouse gas (“GHG”) carbon offsets.

Ms. Manthripragada also brings experience as an international renewable energy developer, where she led greenfield development and project acquisitions through initial viability analysis and partner due diligence in more than 10 emerging markets across sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Ms. Manthripragada has served as a liaison to President Obama’s Power Africa program and has been involved with energy market design in countries such as Uganda and Zambia.

Ms. Manthripragada began her career in public policy and diplomacy serving as an advisor to the Ambassador for Global Partnership in the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of State.
