Adam Kamen is a member of the Office of the CFO Solutions practice. Mr. Kamen specializes in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), business diligence, transactions, strategic initiatives, operational projects and audits. He has global management experience across finance and operations and extensive experience serving in interim finance roles as well as leading financial and operational improvement projects.
Mr. Kamen most recently held interim CFO and Vice President of FP&A roles for a $600 million revenue private global digital media company, where he led the total company annual budget preparation, owned the monthly operating review process for 3 business segments, managed a 10+ person finance team, built forecast models for COVID scenario analysis, oversaw cash & liquidity forecasting, developed transformation and cost mitigation plans and prepared c-suite, board of directors & lender reporting. Mr. Kamen has held an interim Vice President of Finance role for a $450 million revenue and $75 million EBITDA private commercial trailer manufacturer, where he implemented operational driver based forecasting, prepared the monthly performance review, enhanced the sales, inventory and operations (“SIOP”) processes and developed a weekly key performance indicator (“KPI”) metrics dashboard.
Mr. Kamen’s business transformation experience includes leading the outsourcing strategy and preliminary scoping effort for a $13 billion global investment firm with 40 portfolio companies. He established the portfolio assessment framework and developed the target operating models. Mr. Kamen co-led the Transformation Management Office (TMO) for a $1.3 billion global textiles business, partnering with functional leadership to build a strategic initiatives playbook outlining key milestones and KPIs and established an operating rhythm to track progress. He prepared cost savings estimates and embedded them within the operating plan and developed a model including dashboards to track and ensure realization.
Prior to joining FT ConsultingI, Mr. Kamen was an operating and advisory professional at Cerberus Capital Management, where he partnered with the private equity deal team to evaluate 10+ prospective investments ranging from $100 million to $5 billion across 9 different industries. He served as co-diligence lead for the potential acquisition of two multi-billion dollar companies and a business carve-out.
Additionally, Mr. Kamen conducted market, competitor and business strategy assessments and identified operational improvements highlighting the strengths and risks of each investment thesis. Mr. Kamen also served in CFO advisor roles focused on transformation for two $150+ million private equity portfolio companies, where he supported the first 100-day integration plan for one portfolio company and managed the divestiture preparation process for another, as well as developed 5-year operating models, identified EBITDA improvement opportunities, managed working capital/cash flow optimization and prepared executive reporting/KPI metrics.
Previously, Mr. Kamen was an Executive within GE Healthcare’s strategic initiatives group, where he led a global operations team of 30+ individuals with diverse experience executing commercial, financial and operational projects. His team was able to identify and implement strategic initiatives realizing $90 million of cost productivity, including $20 million of locomotive cost productivity, $9 million of healthcare planned maintenance productivity and $10 million aviation engine cost deflation.
Mr. Kamen began his career within GE’s premier financial leadership programs, Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) and Financial Management Program (FMP), where he held various management positions.
