Amy Showalter, RN, BSN, MBA, has over 25 years in hospital and healthcare operations. She is an executive leader with a focused expertise in workforce management. She has worked across the healthcare continuum in both inpatient, ambulatory, post-acute and physician services.

During her consulting career, Ms. Showalter has led diverse cross-functional teams in organizations ranging from complex healthcare systems to critical access and stand-alone hospitals to meet financial and service goals related to patient care. Projects focused on reducing rework, waste, and barriers to patient access, throughput and operational efficiency. She has developed methodologies to manage staffing, scheduling, overtime, and agency usage.

Most recently, Ms. Showalter served for 3 years as a hospital COO as well as Interim CNO for the inpatient and ambulatory rehab clinics and physician practices. During this time, she was responsible for the management and planning for COVID pandemic response for hospital and ambulatory operations, patient/family and employee safety. This included developing strategies for the telehealth response, closing and consolidating services, and re-opening. In addition, she was the Executive Sponsor for the successful transition from a paper patient documentation system to the implementation of the Cerner EMR.

Ms. Showalter has also led the organization through the CMS Validation Survey and corrective action plan to meet all citations in 2019 and she led outpatient therapy through CMS accreditation survey for independence from hospital to a designated Agency status for outpatient services.

Ms. Showalter holds her B.S. in Nursing from West Virginia University and her M.B.A. from The College of William and Mary.
