Antoine Mavel specializes in operational due diligence, integrations and carve-outs. Mr. Mavel has 15 years of experience and has worked on over 200 engagements for a variety of clients across the globe.
Mr. Mavel is a specialist in M&A operations; he advises clients starting from the pre-deal phase with operational due diligence assessment, including carve-out and synergy analysis, before his role typically expands to cover the wider integration or separation program with a strong focus on accelerating value creation. In addition to his experience in integrations and separations he has also led several performance improvement engagements and operational turnaround projects.
Since 2012, Mr. Mavel has led or overseen the operational assessment or implementation of over 200 transactions, with a particular focus on financial services, manufacturing, energy and retail businesses. He has extensive experience working with private equity and pension funds clients, often operating alongside portfolio companies.
Some of Mr. Mavel’s notable clients include Permira, TPG, Onex, Brookfield Partners, OTTP, OMERS, Triwest Capital, PSP, Oncap, DW Healthcare Partners, Cheung Kong Infrastructure, Ontario public sector, Aviva, Shell, LBG, Korean’s National Oil, SNC, Lagardere, Mitsui and Tate & Lyle.
Mr. Mavel’s recent projects included a buy-side carve-out and Day 1 readiness assessment of more than 80 stores being acquired from a large retail group and an add-on acquisition in the chemical sector for a private equity client focused on growing its portfolio platform.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Mavel was an Associate Partner at EY in China where he led the Value Creation services. Before that he spent five years as a Director with KPMG in Canada where he established and led the firm’s Operational Due Diligence practice. He started his career in general management working for a mid-size French group setting up their first manufacturing plant in Shenzhen, China where he spent four years.
Mr. Mavel holds a Master’s degree from ESCE, a school specialized in International Affairs, and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
