Brendan Klein is a Senior Managing Director in the Business Transformation practice, where he is focused on commercial excellence, sales effectiveness and digital selling. Mr. Klein has more than 20 years of experience selling and executing customer, business and operations strategies. He has a passion for blending these disciplines to bring a unique perspective to long term, international sales force transformations.
In Mr. Klein’s current role, he helps organizations deliver a differentiated channel experience based on customer and partner needs, aligned with the organizations’ overall purpose. This requires rethinking the end-to-end sales and service value chain, including: sales strategy & planning, sales process & methodology, sales performance management, sales organization & talent and digital enablement. Mr. Klein can directly impact top-line growth by leveraging leading practice approaches in sales strategy methodology.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. Klein spent three years at EY as the Leader of the Sales & Service Commercial Excellence practice. There he led many long-term international sales effectiveness transformation programs across technology, finance, agriculture and industrial sectors.
Before that, Mr. Klein spent 16 years at IBM, most recently at the corporate headquarters as Director of Transformation and Operations. In this role, he was responsible for IBM’s global sales force transformation. He and his team of 340 field resources advised and enabled IBM’s 6,000 sales managers and 40,000 sellers across all business units to define client strategies, optimize seller productivity and maximize incentive programs. He owned a three-year sales transformation program sponsored by IBM’s Chairman/CEO. His team changed how IBM engaged with clients from an “outside-in” perspective. This included rebuilding sales methodology, differentiating seller skills and driving employee engagement. He led IBM’s Global Business Solutions program to create a portfolio of cross-brand solutions that deliver superior value to clients, whereby he grew signings from $4.7-6.9 billion (49 percent) and increased Business Solution Professional (BSP) staffing from 415 to 566 (36 percent) in two years. While at IBM, he integrated their $3.5 billion acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, resulting in the launch of IBM Global Business Services (GBS). Mr. Klein managed $7 million in long-term, international consulting engagements in the communications industry, including the telecommunications, energy and utilities, and media and entertainment sectors.
Mr. Klein holds a B.S. in communications from Northwestern University and a degree in executive leadership from Harvard University. He has certifications in Agile Leadership, Advanced Analytics, Business Transformation, Component Business Modeling and Value Realization.
