Brent Miller

Brent Miller is a Managing Director in the FTI Consulting Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and is based in Chicago. Mr. Miller is a Certified Public Accountant and Accredited in Business Valuation by the AICPA. Mr. Miller has more than 11 years of experience in FTI Consulting's Dispute Advisory Services practice, leading numerous project teams to support FTI Consulting's expert witnesses and clients in a wide range of commercial disputes.

Mr. Miller has extensive experience assisting clients in matters involving business valuation. He has performed valuations to support both plaintiffs and defendants in breach of fiduciary duty, appraisal rights and contractual dispute litigations, including matters involving multi-billion-dollar acquisitions. He has valued businesses in the healthcare, pharmaceutical manufacturing, cosmetics, telecommunications, and aviation components industries among others. Mr. Miller develops and teaches internal courses on business valuation for FTI Consulting employees and has lectured on business valuation issues for BVR and Securities Docket.

Mr. Miller also advises clients in a variety of other post-M&A disputes, including pre-litigation assessments and dispute resolution efforts. Mr. Miller has supported testifying expert witnesses in various forums and personally presented on behalf of clients in settlement meetings. Examples of these disputes include breaches of reps and warranties, financial misstatements, Net Working Capital disputes and material adverse change claims. In many cases, Mr. Miller has helped his clients secure favorable settlements and avoid protracted litigation.

Mr. Miller has significant experience in intellectual property disputes and other areas of commercial litigation, including breach of contract, business interruption and asset misappropriation. Mr. Miller assists his clients and Counsel throughout the litigation process, advising on and supporting pre and early-litigation assessment and negotiations, discovery, investigation, developing and reporting expert opinions, testimony and evidentiary demonstratives.
