Chas Harvick is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Phoenix. He is a member of the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment. Mr. Harvick specializes in addressing liquidity/distressed situations, designing and implementing financial strategies, optimizing enterprise value and managing complex claims and events.
For the past 16 years, Mr. Harvick has provided advisory services for clients across diverse industries, including retail, grocery, restaurants, real estate, sub-prime mortgage lending, financial services, gaming, government and insurance.
Mr. Harvick has extensive experience advising debtors, secured and unsecured creditors and equity holders in out-of-court and formal bankruptcy restructurings, assisting with lender due diligence, negotiating new and existing financing agreements and performing estate wind-down services.
In addition, Mr. Harvick has participated in many restructuring engagements. Specific services have included review and critique of business plans; 13-week cash-flow analysis and other liquidity planning and management; development and implementation of plans of reorganization and related disclosure statements; selling, general and administrative (“SG&A”) cost reduction and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (“EBITDA”) enhancement; development of strategic options to preserve/maximize value for creditors; operational analyses; financial forecasting; liquidation analyses; creditor negotiations; cram-down interest rate and feasibility analyses and settlement of claims.
Mr. Harvick has also served as a plan agent to oversee post confirmation matters for unsecured creditors, and has provided extensive services to businesses and law firms involving complex claims and events in a variety of areas, including damage analysis, settlement claims administration, compliance matters, financial and forensic issues and dispute and litigation matters.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Harvick worked in the Forensic practice of KPMG and in the Value Solutions practice at Arthur Andersen. His change in firms was due to KPMG’s acquisition of Arthur Andersen’s Value Solutions practice and FTI Consulting’s acquisition of KPMG’s Forensic practice.
Mr. Harvick holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Northern Arizona University. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Turnaround Management Association-Arizona Chapter, is a Board Officer (Treasurer) of Special Olympics Arizona (“SOAZ”) and is the founder of the SOAZ Emerging Leaders Council.
