Christopher Halas is a Senior Director at FTI Consulting. He is a member of the Economic and Financial Consulting practice and is based in London.

Christopher has over 12 years’ experience advising financial institutions – investment banks and investment managers – and law firms on a wide range of capital markets issues in the context of disputes, litigation and arbitration.

In the areas of financial risk management and regulation, he has advised (i) a board and senior management of a bank on their risk management framework and corporate governance arrangements, (ii) an acquiring bank on the regulatory capital impact of an acquisition of target banks and/or loan portfolios under CRD IV and CRR and (iii) a number of banks on their responses to financial regulatory investigations into alleged anticompetitive behaviour in financial markets across asset classes, including interest rate, foreign exchange, fixed income and credit default swaps.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, he worked at NERA Economic Consulting, first in the Securities and Finance Practice in New York City and then in the European Finance, Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group in London. He began his career as an analyst in the treasury department of ACE Group (now Chubb) in Philadelphia.

Christopher graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rochester with a BA in Economics (Distinction) and Political Science and holds a Masters in Finance degree from London Business School.

Christopher is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charterholder and a Financial Risk Manager – Certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals. He is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.

Christopher regularly presents to law firms on topics related to capital markets and financial products.
