About Colin
Colin McCafferty is a member of FTI Capital Advisors, FTI Consulting’s investment banking subsidiary. Mr. McCafferty specializes in the media and technology industries, providing investment banking and advisory services to both large corporate clients and middle market growth companies. He has over 20 years of investment banking experience and has advised on over $15 billion in transactions throughout his career.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. McCafferty was CEO of McCafferty & Company, a boutique advisory firmed based in Los Angeles which he founded. Mr. McCafferty’s expertise spans multiple sub-sectors of media and technology and across investment banking products including both buy side and sell side M&A, private placements of both debt and equity and capital markets transactions. He has advised on more than 80 transactions across the U.S., Germany, UK, and central Europe totaling over $15 billion in enterprise value. Mr. McCafferty previously served as a Director at Saban Capital Group in Los Angeles where he worked on numerous international transactions.
Mr. McCafferty sourced, led and executed on over 60 M&A mandates. He began his finance career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the investment banking division in New York.
Mr. McCafferty is a regular speaker on numerous industry panels and events regarding M&A and the current state of the market. He is a published writer who began his media industry career at CBS, working on the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic Games – for which he earned nominations for two Emmy’s, as a producer and writer. Mr. McCafferty recently served as a consulting producer for 7-part docuseries sold to Disney+.
Mr. McCafferty has volunteered actively at L.A. Foodbank and has served on several charitable boards in Los Angeles.
